About Us

DOLPHIN DIVE UK

Our founder Simon Belson has had a passion for diving ever since he began his diving journey back  in 1999, in recent years he has decided to further this journey by passing on his knowledge and wonders that he has been priviliged to see in the underwater world to the next generation of Scuba divers.

From diving WW2 wrecks  in near zero water temperatures of the Arctic Circle, to diving with Thresher sharks in the clear blue 30°C water temperatures of the Philippines, Simon brings a wealth of diving experience to the table.

He initially completed his Open Water certification in the Seychelles, went on to complete his Advanced Open Water certification in Norway and more recently his Rescue diver course was completed in Singapore.

Whilst on assignment to Brasil, he achieved his Divemasterr qualification with Dolphin Dive Rio and taught for a year in Brasil under the guidance of Vladinilson Hernandes, hence why the name of our school is affiliated to that school out of respect and mutual admiration for his Dive Instructor "Vladi" there. We are proud to be part of the Dolphin Dive family, and Simon wishes to bring the warmth of the Brazilian people back to the not so warmth of the UK waters.

As a qualified Divemaster meeting standards exceeding the minimum requirements, he guarantees students a course focused on the fundamentals of safety, aquatics, and dive planning, ensuring you become a skilled, independent and confident diver.

Simon is also a hugely passionate shark conservationist, and advocate for the protection of these magnificent creatures, he is an active member of both Shark Guardian and Bite back UK charities, and regularly attends events, cleanup campaigns,  and schools to educate people on shark ecology and conservation.

We are based in Hertfordshire, with access to pools for confined water training, and either inland dive sites, or we travel to the south coast of England for open water training and dives.
